The Back Nine

The back nine can be defined in one word; WATER. Playing the back nine requires thought and accuracy as you negotiate four trips across the Sugar River and five ponds throughout. Unlike the numerous scoring opportunities on the front nine, the two par 5s and two par 3s on the back are unlikely to yield a gain in strokes. Furthermore, tee shots on the 11th and 12th holes will require you to negotiate narrow fairways guarded on both sides by water.  Needless to say, if you are not in the fairways on the back nine, your efforts to score pars will be futile at best.
